Shoaib Nasir’s Background Story:

Shoaib Nasir’s great-grandfather, Muhammad Yaqub Khan, migrated from Afghanistan and settled in Moradabad, a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. His grandfather (Dada) Khan Bahadur Lt. Muhammad Ayoub Khan and grandfather (Nana) Nawab Muhammad Jalil ul Qadar joined the British Army. After the partition his uncle Haqdad Khan served with the Pakistan Army, so Shoaib Nasir’s entire family was called a military family.

After the partition, Shoaib Nasir’s father Muhammad Zakaria Khan settled in Karachi, Pakistan. Shoaib Nasir has now migrated to Canada and is living there with his family.

Shoaib Nasir’s younger brother Shebli Zakeria Khan currently lives in London, UK, while his other younger brother Saadi Zakaria Khan lives in Germany with his family. His younger brother Shuja Zakaria Khan lives in Canada with his family.

Shoaib Nasir comes from a rich literary background. His maternal grandfather, Nawab Jalil-ul-Qadr, was a distinguished poet who wrote in Urdu, Persian, and Arabic. His maternal uncle, Khalid Hamidi, was a prominent progressive poet, and his poetry collection “Soch” (book) gained considerable recognition in literary circles. Shoaib Nasir’s mother also possesses a deep appreciation for literature, with a particular passion for reciting Naat. She has authored a book titled “Yaadon Ke Jugnu”, which reflects on her family’s history and migration experiences and has already been published. Additionally, a collection of her children’s stories is currently in the process of publication.
